Much sturdier than Riedel : Schott Zwiesel Tritan Crystal Stemware Cru Classic Collection Bordeaux 27.9 Ounce, Set of 6

Over the years I have used Riedel and Spiegelau and am very fond of the design, shape and function of these glasses. I was thrilled to see a more durable alternative and being half Bavarian felt obligated to "buy "bavarian"! However, I was disappointed. Immediately, I did not like the shape (not enough "belly" or curve in the bowl), stems are too thick, and the rim of the glass is too thick. I also broke two glasses on the second cleaning (I normally can keep a glass for 6-12 months before breaking). I'm sticking with Riedel and others. I miss that thin disappearing rim, thinner stem, and accentuated curvature (for swirling). The Zwiesels ultimately, for me, are too masculine and not as resistant as claimed. They also are costly for what they are. I do not enjoy drinking wine out of these glasses.
